What Exactly Did God Create?
“In the beginning God created…” Genesis 1:1
What if something suddenly appeared or was discovered in the world or in outer space that caused people to doubt the existence of God? What if they said, in light of what happened, they believe He is just some idea man created to explain things we didn’t understand before...? Are science and faith in God mutually exclusive? If God created the world and everything in it, would that not support the fact that God may have even created other worlds in the universe?
The Bible says that in ancient times a race of giants existed that were born of women who were impregnated by fallen angels. Now that sounds pretty unimaginable, but some archaeological discoveries have been made that support their existence. Unexplainable structures exist in Peru, Egypt, and across the world that would stretch the abilities of modern man to re-create, even today. How is it possible that ancient men could have created these sophisticated megalithic structures of such precision and proportion without the tools or technology required to create such structures? Why do you think the Catholic Church owns one of the largest space observatories in the world? Are they watching for the sign of Jesus’ return in the heavens, or something else? What if extra-terrestrials suddenly revealed themselves to the world and showed us how to accomplish what we had previously thought were miracles that only God could perform? Would that make you re-think your belief in God, or would you just think that another of the many worlds God created had finally been revealed to us?
I have very few answers, but lots more questions. However, many scientists who were previously atheists have come to believe in God and the Truth of the Bible after seeing the evidence of God’s hand in the mathematical perfection and brilliance of DNA. Even though with the discovery of DNA, science has now debunked Darwinism, many people still cling to their belief in the evolution of the species, and many schools still teach it as truth. God’s Word warns us that in the end times, even “the elect” will be deceived by the lies of the enemy because of things that are happening in the world around us. Satan will use every possible means to undermine our belief in our Creator and make the gospel of Christ seem like mythical foolishness. It is no accident that the Bible warns us that many will lose their faith as a result of things that will happen.
Can you honestly say there is nothing that could destroy your faith in God? I urge you to pray and ask God to reveal Himself to you in a very real and meaningful way so that your faith will remain unshakable. If you know Him personally, your faith will stand any test. Knowing is stronger than believing. Above and beyond all else, I know one thing to be true: my God lives! His Truth is evident in His Word, in history, science, the world around us, and in the universe; and He loves you with a love that will never fail…no matter what.
On second thought, if you believe in science, how could you NOT believe in God?
Prayer: Father God, thank you for all You have done for me. You are the author of Truth and the Creator of all that exists. I praise You and love You because, in spite of Who You are, You chose me and loved me in the midst of my sin. You sent Your Son to give His life in exchange for mine so I could live with You forever in Eternal Paradise. Please open my mind to a fresh, new revelation of who You are and what You want for my life. Help me to fulfill Your perfect plan so that when You finally bring me home, I will hear You say, ”Well done, my good and faithful servant! Welcome home, my dear, beloved and precious child.” Guide me into Your Truth, in Jesus’ name, amen.
